I never imagined it this way.

After so many years orbiting her in silence, after countless times I wrote her absence into words, something different finally happened.

It wasn’t a miracle — though perhaps it was. All I know is that it was a moment. And that was enough.

She, who has always been rigorously sovereign over herself, her silences, her direction, chose — not out of insistence on my part nor by chance — to share her time and space with me, and to truly listen, like almost never before.

I found myself repeating, perhaps with less fervor than before, how much she meant to me.

That her name had been with me far more than she could ever guess.

That it wasn’t a metaphor when I called her the chosen one, the star.

That it wasn’t an exaggeration when I spoke of her silence.

She knew it. She always did.

And though there were no confessions, no promises — though everything was sober and brief — there was presence. Real. Mutual. Unprecedented.

The moment ended with an embrace that lasted just a few seconds. Just enough for time and silence, for once, not to hurt.

It was a small gesture that, in another story, might have held no weight. But this is not another story.

I don’t write to imagine things. Nor to feed fictions.

I expect nothing and seek nothing, because I respect everything.

I’ve come simply to leave record that a new line has been drawn.

Not a line toward the future. Not a line of possibility.

A line in memory.

A beautiful fracture in time.

Because the star was no longer distant for a few minutes — she didn’t shine from the sky, but from closeness, and with a calm voice.

And I, who had waited so many nights without truly waiting anymore, can only say that she was there, and I was too, finally in the same orbit, even if just for one single turn.

She is no longer just the star who chose silence. Now she’s the woman who, for one night, chose not to run.

A constellation that appeared once and never returned — but still illuminated just the same.

And I, who have long known how to write every silence, now try to describe her brief light.
